Day 88 – Ellenbrae Station to Manning Gorge – sunny 33

Why did the snake try to cross the road? It didnt!!!
I was awake for the trip today and for a place I thought would be fairly boring, I find it pretty amazing. The change in landscape and road conditions, is rapid. One thing we have learnt is that this road can change from a highway a few days before to a corrugated nightmare and visa versa.

We arrived at Mt Barnett Roadhouse were we could stock up on a few things and pay for our camping for the night. The camp ground wasn’t bad but the amenities block was shitty, this was all made up by the swim in the river.

Not a bad spot to cool off
Paige took this one for us
What Walk.
As if we hadn’t done enough walking we decided to go on the 4km walk to the falls, now if this is 4km it was extremely long, we are thinking more like 5km. It was a great swim and beautiful views. Also with the walk you had to put your stuff in polystyrene boxes to float across the river to start the walk.
