Day 183 – Mildura – Home – Sunny 21

We said our good-byes to Pat, Joy and the kids and went to visit Nonu at the block, he seems to be doing well. So while Glenn cut the lawns, Paige chattered to Nonu who didn’t have a clue what she was talking about, I was taking photos of the place and Levi was chasing the lawn mower around because he had forgotten what one was.
Paige showing off her battle scars to Nonu Grande.

Levi was petrified of Nonu saying “He’s going to bite me”.
I told him he can’t bite you, he doesn’t have any teeth.
By 11.30am we were on the road to Echuca, we had stopped at Swan Hill for lunch and it wasn’t until we stopped, I started to feel like crap. We got to Echuca and Glenn decided that he could drive the 140km home, so we did.

Francis and Paige.

Just like home.

Having a Cuppa.

What?

See Ya Little Man.
We arrived home at 8pm, Paige was so excited, the rest of us were fairly calm and hesitant.
The kids rediscovered their toys, which was after we had to show them were there rooms where, they had forgotten. Levi couldn’t believe all the trucks and trains he had, he was very overwhelmed.
Not long after we had got in, there was a little knock at the door, they let themselves in.
“Hello, the door was open”.
It was Robyn, she is crazy, she couldn’t wait. Little sweetie.

Thank-you to everyone who followed the blog.

Glenn is going to go through and edit all of my mistakes,

and sentences that do not make sense.

Ciao Anna

Day 182 – Mildura – sunny 22

I didn’t hesitate to book in with Pat to have a haircut before we arrived in town, So I was being pampered while Glenn took the kids to the park.

Visiting in the afternoon to Auntie Francis and Uncle Charlie’s, it was great to catch up with them as we hadn't seen them 6 months ago, because of our little trip to Adelaide Hospital.

Day 181 – Port Germien to Mildura – sunny 23

We didn’t mind the drive to Broken Hill and enjoyed the wild flowers especially the Stuart Desert Peas, they are gorgeous. We stopped and had some lunch, we were thinking of staying the night here and then decided last minute to drive to Mildura, now that is a boring driving. The kids travelled really well for a long day, but Glenn and I couldn’t believe how bland this road was, this is what we thought the Nullabor was going to be like. Arrived at Pat and Joy’s late, had dinner, the kids crashed they were so buggered. We caught up with the local goss and their travels to America, it was so good to see them, but on the same token it now feels we hadn’t gone anywhere, as this was the place we left from.

Day 180 – Port Germien – sunny 22

Smiley Faces all round

Out I go this morning with bucket in one hand, crab nets, fishing line and squid jig in the other. The sun was out and there was hardly any wind, the crabs did start to come in and then BANG, I caught a squid I was dancing like a little kid. Stoked because now I knew that they were down there I could cast out all day. Glenn and the kids came just at the right time to clean the 2 crabs and 3 squid, I had so much fun.

The professional way to pick up crabs

The rest of the day was spent relaxing as Glenn and I both felt a tad lethargic, that would be right to go home and be sick.

Day 179 – Whyalla to Port Germien – sunny 20

We told Levi to stop whinging or go and catch a taxi, so he did.
Glenn asked him if he had any money, he said no.
Then he walked across to the car and asked Glenn for money......
Glenn told him to get in the car.
I caved and got a cabin for the night, I couldn’t be bothered putting up the camper for just one night again. At the end of our walk on the 1532m jetty it was beautiful and sunny but windy, we lasted half an hour out there crabbing before we started to walk back.
Paige in Shanghai.

Levi and Grizz.

Cheeky boys.

Run Paige the tides coming in!
We decided to stay another night and give the crab fishing a chance, Glenn went out after dinner and came back with 3, he did have 5 other females but didn’t realize he was allowed to keep them.

Day 178 – Lipson Cove to Whyalla – sunny 21

At it again.
I know you going to think we are nuts, we went back again to Tumby Bay this morning it was like the squid were calling me.
(Sssshhhh listen "AAAANNNNNAAA AAAANNNNNAAA" see)
I even dreamt of luring them last night. We stayed for an hour and got another 3, dragging my feet with my head bowed and clinging onto my most precious Lure, I walk off the jetty for the last time.

We searched the jetty at Arno Bay for ink but alas we found none so so sad, we decided to have lunch here instead. At Cowell we did the same thing, but all the fishing seemed to be quieter the further North we went, so we have given up on finding anymore squid and camped at Whyalla.

We have to come home sooner or later.
I wish it was later!

Day 177 – Tumby Bay to Lipson Cove – sunny 21

Sunrise on Tumby Bay jetty
Paige with a couple of squid.

Levi not as keen to hold them as Paige.
Glenn came back with 5 squid from his morning expedition.

My First Squid  not very big but hey who said size matters?
So before leaving Tumby Bay we gave it one more shot at squidding on the jetty, well it paid off with 7 Squid in 20mins.
I had so much fun, I was catching while Glenn was cleaning them at the start of the jetty, Paige was the transporter, carrying them to Dad. It was all going smoothly until one of the squid was a tad too fresh, and when Paige saw those tentacles open up walking down to Glenn her curiosity got the better of her, she poked the squid right in the beak with her finger.
It was  only stuck for a little while, until Dad Stabbed It.
The squid that is!
Deciding to take a break and go for some lunch, I was addicted and had to go back for another try. We took it in turns, ½ hour each, this time I got 2 more and Glenn got another 1.
Camped at Lipson Cove cooking lunch.

Relaxing on the beach at Lipson Cove

Any spare moment its Blanket time.
The drive to Lipson Cove was only short, we had so much fun during the day, after dinner we packed the kids in the car with the DVD player and went back to Tumby Bay for more Squid, we got another 8, I just couldn’t get enough.
