Day 66 – Kakadu Jabiru to Merl 2 (Ubirr) – sunny 34

Today was more waiting than anything, Paige and Glenn went on a flight over Kakadu at 12.30pm, so we hung around Jabiru at the playground until their flight. They loved the trip, Paige especially, the cabin warmth was making her go to sleep and Glenn had to keep giving her a nudge. Levi had his avo nap, while I tried to catch up on some website journal.

No sooner had we set up camp at Merl 2 near Ubirr, we cooked and packed dinner and then headed out to Ubirr Rock to view the sunset. The car park was fairly packed but once at the top everyone had a perfect view of the sunset and wetlands. It was breath taking, we had only wished we had left a little earlier, to spend more time up on the rock and have dinner. As soon as the sun has disappeared the rangers start to usher you off the rock, for safety reasons.
This view is in a scene from Crocodile Dundee.
