Took in the surroundings at Aileron.
| This statue stands on top of a hill and can be seen from a long way off. |
| These satues are on the outskirts of town. |
Barrow Creek, now that is a place to stop.
The bar walls are full of money (notes), apparently the miners used to stop for a drink here with their pockets full on the way to Alice Springs. They would write their name on the $2 note, because they knew when they got back they would have spent every cent. The $2 could then buy them a 6 pack.
Helen the Bar maid ,was in the mood to serve customers, but when we asked her to hold Grizzly for a photo, the ice broke and we got a lovely conversation from her.
Our intention was to stop at Banka Banka Station for the night, but since we would have been stopping at 10am we kept going.
Little to our knowledge we found Elliot which was a very sad town if you could call it that, then Renner Springs which was nice, but by this time we thought bugger it we would just have a big day driving.
We ended up in Dunmarra Roadhouse, with shaded green sites and a pool which we all shared with a few frogs.
